Director: Kristine M. Baber, Ph.D.Kristine M. Baber received her MA in Human Development and Family Studies
and her Ph.D. in Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. She
joined the Department of Family Studies at the University of New Hampshire
in 1984. Dr. Baber teaches courses on adolescence, human sexuality, ethics
and professional practice, and family diversity. Dr. Baber also is a core
faculty member in the Women's Studies Program at UNH. Her research focuses
on sexuality education and girls' and women’s identity and sexuality
issues. Over the last nineteen years, she has been involved in numerous
research projects, summer institutes, workshops, and special programs
focused on youth in New Hampshire. Projects Manager: Gretchen Bean, MAGretchen Bean received her Masters in Arts from the University of Chicago where she concentrated her studies on issues in adolescent development and community organizing. Through her graduate work she developed training materials on working with youth for professionals in the Chicago Public Schools, designed and modified curriculum for community action planning for violence prevention, and researched best practices in positive youth development programs. Since joining the staff of the UNH Center on Adolescence in 2003, Gretchen has co-authored Supporting New Hampshire Youth, Moving Toward a Healthier Future: New Hampshire's Adolescent Health Strategic Plan and Girls Speak Up! Conversations with Young Women About Critical Issues in Thier Lives. She has also researched and assessed youth resources in Strafford County, and developed numerous fact sheets and workshops on adolescent-related topics. Currently, Gretchen's primary responsibility is working on the evaluation of the Frameworks Youth Suicide Prevention Project.
